We have two classic roomy Queenslander homesteads for hire.   Spacious lounge and dining areas open onto wide verandahs offering superb views of the lake and surrounding mountains.  Lake View and Grand View homesteads provide clean, tidy, and comfortable accommodation.  Both homesteads are located some distance away from our camping areas. The homesteads have fully equipped kitchens with microwave, fridges, cutlery and crockery.  The homesteads have their own private barbeques, TV, lawns, balconies (offering supurb views of mountains, bushland and lakes), and car parking, etc. The various facilities of the homesteads are for the exclusive use of homestead guests only, and are not available to camping guests.

Our holiday homesteads can accommodate large numbers, and are an excellent venue for family gatherings, social groups, and special occasions.   Our homesteads are also an ideal venue for staff training and staff development purposes, as well as for conferences, and overnight accommodation, etc.   Discount rates available for contractors wanting mid week accommodation - phone for detail. 

Our personal commitment to our guests is that we will strive to ensure our guests receive a high quality and personal service, that our guests feel they have achieved the best deal possible and value for money spent, and that our guests have enjoyed the experience and want to come back and visit us again.

Our policy for non-business or non-corporate gatherings is that we prefer smaller groups. The environment we seek to create for our guests, is basically quality ahead of quantity.  We believe that guests come to visit our holiday homes and want to experience the uniqueness of the outback.  In addition to swimming and waterskiing and boating, we want guests who visit us to be able to enjoy the open spaces of the outback, and accordingly for private gatherings (non-business or non-corporate gatherings) we prefer to limit the numbers we admit to our holiday houses at any one time.  When guests visit us they can be assured of privacy, peace and quiet, plenty of space, and beautiful and peaceful bush and water vistas. For greater detail and photos, please go to our alternative web site:- www.maroondam.com.au

Our holiday homesteads can accommodate large groups and large numbers of guests.  This is ideal for corporate and business functions, especially where plenty of space for discussion groups or training sessions is involved, and numerous bedrooms are required to accommodate overnight guests, etc.

(PLEASE NOTE: Where a booking for more than 10 people for either holiday homestead is proposed, or where with a larger group the numbers of children are likely to exceed the proposed number of adults, guests making such a booking must contact the owners and request an email confirmation before making their booking.  If this is not done, the booking may not be accepted at check-in and under these circumstances a refund will not be given).  

As opposed to crowding one of the homesteads to maximum capacity, the hiring of the two homesteads can be a more appropriate solution.  We don't subscribe to the philosophy of "the more the merrier".  Where larger numbers are being contemplated, the cost difference of renting two homesteads as opposed to one is not significant, and of course the facilities are not subjected to undue strain, individual privacy is enhanced - as is the quality and enjoyment of the visit in general.  If you are contemplating renting both holiday houses as opposed to just the one, then  phone us - we can always negotiate!   Phone Brian or Vicki to discuss your plans - 07 5463 6256.

Both houses have magnificent views of the lake and are a short walk (approx 150m) or drive (approx 400m) to the lake beach, where guests can launch a boat, swim or fish.   If they are lucky, our house guests will be able to stand on their homestead verandah and see a Koala in one of the many nearby gum trees, or a large and old Goanna who lives in the homestead grounds slowly making its way across the lawns, or guests may see kangaroos, and numerous brightly coloured mountain birds - whilst probably thoughtfully sipping a beer and leaning against a verandah balustrade.  For the cooler months, both holiday houses are generously equipped with electric heating throughout.


There is a sealed bitumen road all the way to the houses with a large roundabout to make it easier to park when towing a boat.  The houses are situated about 40 metres apart with a shared lawn area (approx 1000m2) separating the houses.

Lakeview has 1 Queen size bed, 4 double beds and a number of single beds in 6 rooms.

Grandview has 2 double size beds in 2 separate rooms, and a number of single beds (three of which can easily be converted into double beds as and when necessary) in 3 rooms (total of 5 bedrooms)

Each house has 2 toilets and 2 bathrooms.

Guests will need to bring pillowcase, sheets and a towel. Pillows and blankets are supplied.

All booked accommodation must be paid in full at check-in on arrival date or as agreed to by the management.


Where a booking for more than 10 people for either holiday homestead is proposed, guests making such a booking are asked contact the owners for confirmation of the booking.

Bookings for "Schoolies" weeks should not be made without consultation and written permission from the owners (Vicki and Brian).

A credit card authorization for $350.00 per house is required to cover damage or incidentals.  This authorization will only be used if incidentals such as drinks or ice-creams are charged, or if the homestead is not left in a satisfactory condition.




1    Domestic animals and pets are not permitted in the homesteads or the homestead grounds.

2    No fuel whatsoever may be stored in, on, under or near the homesteads.
