Lake Maroon Canoeing
Lake Maroon is probably one of the best canoeing lakes in Queensland.
The Lake is deep and clear, very safe and not crowded.
Almost all of the dam’s surface area is canoeable and free from obstructions.
Due to the surrounding mountains the dam is not usually affected by wind, deep enough that is doesn't chop up easily and can be canoed all day.
Private Lake Access
We have our own private access to the lake were you can launch in a good deep launching area.
You can set up a day shelter right beside the waters edge. It is very popular with groups.
This area is for Lake Maroon Holiday Park guests only, so you won’t be crowded out along the foreshore.
No permits Required
There are no special permits required to use the Lake.
There is a series of buoys about 50 metres from the dam wall that indicate a safety ‘No Go Zone’.
